What is esketamine treatment?

Esketamine is a nasal spray medication specifically designed for adults with treatment-resistant depression.  Administered in our comfortable Infusion Center, esketamine can provide relief when other antidepressant therapies have been unsuccessful.

 

Are you a candidate for esketamine?

You may be eligible for esketamine therapy if:

You have depression that hasn’t improved with other treatments.

You are currently under the care of a psychiatrist.

Your psychiatrist refers you to our program.

You meet the criteria for treatment following a pre-screening evaluation.

 

What to expect during treatment

  • Initial Phase: Twice-weekly treatments for the first four weeks.
  • Maintenance Phase: Weekly or bi-weekly treatments thereafter, adjusted to your individual needs.
  • Visit Duration: Each session lasts approximately two hours, allowing ample time for administration and monitoring.
  • Monitoring: You will be closely monitored by our experienced medical team throughout each treatment session.
  • Transportation: For your safety, you must arrange for transportation home after every visit.

 

Important considerations

Esketamine treatment may not be suitable for everyone.  We will carefully assess your medical history to determine if this therapy is right for you.  Certain conditions may prevent participation, including:

  • Pregnancy
  • Uncontrolled blood pressure
  • Certain heart or blood vessel conditions
  • Active substance use problems
  • Other medical conditions (discussed during your pre-screening

Insurance Coverage: Most insurance plans cover esketamine treatment. Our team will assist you with the authorization process.

We will work closely with your referring psychiatrist and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless, integrated care.
