The Northwell Mather Hospital Psychiatry Residency Program offers a designated fast-track pathway to Zucker Hillside Child Fellowship through the NRMP for one incoming resident each year. This pathway reserves a place in the fellowship program. While all residents may apply to fast-track into any fellowship from our program at the end of their third year, this specific track is intended for those fully committed to a career in child psychiatry and exclusively dedicated to joining the Zucker Child Psychiatry Fellowship Program. Only one resident will be selected for this track utilizing a separate rank list in the NRMP as an incoming PGY-1. Residents who are unsure about their interest in child psychiatry or specifically in the Zucker Hillside Child Fellowship may find it beneficial to wait and apply later in their training. Since the fellowship accepts 10 fellows per year, residents can choose to apply during their third year of training if they decide to pursue this path.

If you are invited to an interview for our Adult Psychiatry Program, you will receive additional instructions on how to apply for the Child Track. Please note that the Child Track requires a separate written statement describing your interest in child psychiatry and is ranked separately in NRMP
