At Mather Hospital, over the past decade, interventional radiology has become a glowing reflection of the Hospital’s four pillars of core values – People, Service, Quality & Safety, and Innovation & Growth. Under these pillars, the Department of Radiology at Mather is committed to providing world class expertise in patient care and is dedicated to providing an environment that is focused on progressive resident education.

Advances in the field of radiology have significantly increased the educational needs of radiology residents over the past decade. Our program is designed to provide a complete clinical and academic experience in all subspecialty areas of Diagnostic Radiology including conventional radiography, nuclear medicine, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasonography, and interventional radiology. Opportunities also exist for participation in a broad range of clinical and basic research activities. You will have full access to the resources provided by the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Health, in addition to Mather Hospital. Presently, Mather Hospital operates the latest imaging equipment and techniques while minimizing radiation exposure during diagnostic and interventional procedures.

As members of the Mather Hospital family, we are committed to providing optimal care to our patients by emphasizing the importance of a multidisciplinary team effort. The interventional radiology team have established many strong relationships with specialties such as Hospital Medicine, Pulmonary and Thoracic Surgery, Hematology Oncology, Gastroenterology, Urology, General Surgery, and Neurosurgery. The pinnacle of a resident’s training is highly dependent on the teacher’s expertise, dedication, passion and creativity. The core faculty for interventional radiology has demonstrated these attributes in their continued growth of the services provided and desire to maintain long-term relationships with patients and medical staff colleagues. The patient experience is at the heart of our daily practice and feeds the desire to provide patient centered care in all areas of radiology at Mather Hospital.

Our philosophy utilizes a combination of structured curriculum, on site training, and self-directed learning to reassure that milestones are met. Our goal is to empower you with the tools you need to promote and exercise your new knowledge to provide care with compassion, integrity and confidence to serve the community at large.
