Lack of a good night’s sleep can do more than leave you drowsy the next day. Studies have shown that a lack of sleep affects your health in many ways, including cardiovascular health, weight, diabetes and memory.
If you are having problems getting a good night’s sleep, regularly experience daytime drowsiness or have been told by a loved one that you snore excessively then Mather’s Sleep Disorders Center may be able to help.
Our physicians are board-certified in sleep medicine, and the Center is staffed by New York State licensed respiratory therapists and registered sleep study technologists. As a hospital-based center, our staff has the immediate back-up of an acute care medical facility.
All patients who require a sleep study either at night or during the day for night workers enjoy a private room, complete with a comfortable queen-sized bed, flat screen television and private bath. Sleep studies are painless and non-invasive. Technologists attach monitoring equipment to the patient, who is then permitted to go about his/her nightly routine.
Mather’s Sleep Disorders Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine for meeting nationally recognized standards of excellence in healthcare, education and research.
A sleep consultation can be set up through a referral from your primary care physician or by calling the Sleep Center directly. Most insurance companies cover the cost of the consultation, testing and treatment for sleep disorders.
