holiday-shopping-avoid-back-painDon’t shop ‘til you drop this holiday season. Here are some helpful tips on preventing back pain while holiday shopping:

  • Dress comfortably and wear shoes with arch supports and cushioning. Avoid high heels.
  • Drink water. Dehydration contributes to muscle spasms and fatigue.
  • Use a shopping cart whenever possible to reduce strain on your back.
  • If you have to carry a package, hold it right in front of you and close to your body. If you have multiple bags, distribute the weight evenly on each side of your body.
