Advanced treatment for prostate cancer using the CyberKnife system will be the topic of a free seminar hosted by the Us TOO Prostate Cancer Support Group on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 7 pm at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Conference Rooms 1 & 2. To register, call (631) 686-7878 or go to precisioncyberknifeofny.org/seminar.

The CyberKnife system uses multiple beams of high-dose radiation that converge on the cancer with pinpoint accuracy, avoiding healthy tissue and organs. The treatments are painless and require no anesthesia, no cutting and no hospitalization.

Presented by Precision CyberKnife of New York, the seminar will be led by Dr. Martin Silverstein, Radiation Oncologist at North Shore Hematology Oncology Associates (NSHOA), and Michael Burghardt, Assistant Vice President, Mather Imaging Services. Precision CyberKnife of New York is a program of John T. Mather Memorial Hospital and North Shore Hematology Oncology Associates (NSHOA).
