October of 2007, John T. Mather Memorial Hospital Bariatric
Surgery Center, Dr. Arif Ahmad and Long Island Laparoscopic Surgery were
jointly named a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American
Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). By definition, surgeons
with ASMBS Centers of Excellence designation practice high quality care,
ensuring efficacy of the procedure with each patient to the best of their
ability and meeting the needs of all patients in our community. And, with
an onsite sleep study center, laboratory and imaging services department,
Mather Hospital offers a central location for all your medical needs throughout
your participation in our Bariatric program.
