John T. Mather Memorial Hospital will hold its Winter Blood Drive on Monday, March 9 from 6:30 am until 6:30 pm in Conference Rooms 3, 4, and 5. The blood drive is open to all community residents.
No appointment is necessary to donate blood. Free valet parking is available for community donors at the main hospital entrance. All donors will receive a free gift card for Dunkin Donuts or Target as well as a complimentary candy bag.
Severe winter weather has led to the cancelation of blood drives, resulting in a critical blood shortage, according to the New York Blood Center, which supplies blood, transfusion products and services to hospitals serving more than 20 million people in New York City, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, New Jersey and parts of Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
