PORT JEFFERSON, NY – The 34th Annual Mather Golf Classic on Thursday, June 6, will honor Wayne Rampone and Leo Sternlicht with the John T. Mather Founder’s Award.

For the second year, the Classic will be played on two golf courses – the Port Jefferson Country Club and the St. George’s Golf & Country Club. Cocktails, dinner and the awards presentations will follow at the Port Jefferson Country Club at 5pm.

Wayne Rampone has been a member of Mather’s Board of Directors since 2001. Mr. Rampone owns and operates Ramp Ford in Port Jefferson, a business started by his grandfather in 1944.

Leo Sternlicht has been a member of Mather’s Board of Directors since 2004 and was named chairman of the board in 2018. Since 1983, Mr. Sternlicht and his brother-in-law, Ted Lucki, have owned and operated car dealerships in Riverhead, currently Riverhead Ford Lincoln, Riverhead Buick GMC, and Riverhead Toyota.

The Golf Classic benefits Nursing Education programs at Mather, which offer ongoing updates and training in clinical practice areas that increase our nurses’ skills and provide our patients with the best care possible.
