Blood donors are needed for John T. Mather Memorial Hospital’s annual fall blood drive on Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 6:30 am until 6:30 pm. The blood drive is open to all community residents.

No appointment is necessary to donate blood. The blood drive will take place in Conference Rooms 3, 4, & 5. All successful donors will receive gift cards and treat bags as a thank you.

Donated blood can be separated into individual components to save multiple lives, according to the New York Blood Center. Donors help meet the daily transfusion needs of cancer and surgery patients, accident and burn victims, newborns and mothers delivering babies, AIDS and sickle cell anemia patients, and more. Each pint of blood collected can help three patients.
