Mather Hospital receives high-performing ratings from U.S. News & World Report

PORT JEFFERSON, NY – Mather Hospital was rated high performing in three adult specialties and four procedures and conditions in the latest U.S. News & World Report hospital ratings..

Mather Hospital was rated high performing for:

  • Heart Failure
  • Geriatrics
  • Kidney Failure
  • Orthopedics
  • Hip fracture
  • COPD
  • Urology

This marks the 33rd edition of U.S. News’ Best Hospitals rankings. Its methodologies in most areas of care are based largely on objective measures such as risk-adjusted survival and discharge-to-home rates, volume, and quality of nursing, among other care-related indicators. U.S. News evaluated nearly 5,000 medical centers nationwide in 15 specialties, and more than 20 procedures and conditions to compile its 2022-23 rankings. Only 164 U.S. hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty.
