Mather Hospital has again earned the top “A” rating from The Leapfrog Group for its efforts in protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the U.S. Mather Hospital is the only hospital in Suffolk County and one of only eight hospitals in New York State to earn the top “A” grade.

“Just weeks ago, Mather Hospital was recertified as a Magnet® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, one of less than 500 hospitals worldwide. These distinctions highlight that patient safety, nursing excellence and quality care are top priorities at Mather Hospital,” said Mather President Kenneth Roberts. “Congratulations to the entire Mather Hospital family for this achievement.”

Developed under the guidance of an expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to approximately 2,500 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
