Kenneth JacoppiMather Chairman Kenneth Jacoppi has received a Distinguished Trustee Award from the United Hospital Fund (UHF).

The award, which recognizes extraordinary leadership and service to hospitals, nursing homes, home care, and rehabilitation organizations throughout the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, Westchester and Orange counties, New Jersey and Connecticut, was presented at a UHF luncheon in Manhattan on April 30. Jacoppi was one of 26 trustees from New York metropolitan-area hospitals and health care organizations who were honored at the event.

“I am honored to be recognized by the United Hospital Fund for this prestigious award,” Jacoppi said. “Having served on Mather’s Board of Directors for more than 40 years and as chairman since 2006, it has been my privilege to help the hospital grow and evolve into the quality healthcare delivery system it is today, enabling it to serve the healthcare needs of our local communities. This is a challenging time for the healthcare industry, and it was most rewarding for me to work with the board and administration of Mather Hospital in the process that ultimately led us to join Northwell Health.”

According to the UHF, this is the 28th year that the Distinguished Trustee Awards were presented. Trustees are nominated by their respective institutions, and all share the same goals as UHF—to ensure safe, effective, affordable care, and a financially sound health care system, serving the needs of diverse communities and populations throughout the New York metropolitan region.

The United Hospital Fund is an independent, nonprofit organization that works to build a more effective health care system for every New Yorker. UHF analyzes public policy to inform decision-makers, find common ground among diverse stakeholders, and develop and support innovative programs that improve the quality, accessibility, affordability, and experience of patient care.
