Kevin Beiner, Roger A. Blumencranz and Ralph Nappi, three members of Northwell Health’s leadership team, have been named to the Mather Hospital Board of Directors.
Kevin Beiner has served various leadership roles at Northwell Health. Currently, he is the senior vice president and regional executive director for the Eastern Region, which includes Southside Hospital, Huntington Hospital, Glen Cove Hospital, Plainview Hospital, Syosset Hospital, South Oaks Hospital, Mather Hospital and Peconic Bay Medical Center. As regional executive director, he develops and oversees implementation of strategic plans to achieve patient satisfaction, quality, operational and financial goals for the region’s hospitals and business areas. He is also responsible for coordinating activity within the region, building physician partnerships and identifying new opportunities for growth and investment.
Previously, Mr. Beiner was the deputy regional executive director for the Northwest Region, overseeing Lenox Hill Hospital, Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital and Lenox Health Greenwich Village, Northwell’s standalone emergency department. In this role, Mr. Beiner enhanced the patient experience, providing a safe and appropriate environment of care while seeing efficiencies and growing market share.
A member of Crain’s New York Business 40 Under 40 in 2012, Mr. Beiner is a preceptor and adjunct lecturer at St. Joseph’s College in New York. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University and an MBA in health services management from Hofstra.
Roger A. Blumencranz is a Managing Director of BWD Sports and Entertainment, an NFP Company.
Mr. Blumencranz has been a member of the Northwell Board of Trustees since 1980. He is Chair of both the Education and Insurance Committees, and serves as a member of the Finance Committee. He is a member of the Joint Board of Overseers for the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
Mr. Blumencranz is Chairman of the Board of the Northwell Health Captive Insurance Company, Regional Insurance Company, Hamilton, Bermuda.
He is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Ralph Nappi is executive vice chair of Northwell Health’s board of trustees, with health system responsibilities. Previously, he served as president of the Northwell Health Foundation, where he worked to cultivate private charitable support for programs, endowments and facilities. He was responsible for establishing charitable partnerships with the region’s leading individuals, corporations and foundations.
Mr. Nappi has been associated with North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) for more than three decades. He is a former chairman of the NSUH board of trustees.
Mr. Nappi is the former chairman of the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. As a board member, he has helped guide the work of many organizations including Healthcare Trustees of New York State, Variety Children’s Lifeline, Volunteer Trustees of Not for-Profit Hospitals, Cornell University Medical College, and the Nassau-Suffolk Health Systems Agency. He was a founding director of the Don Monti Memorial Research Foundation. In addition, Mr. Nappi is past chairman of the Institute for Student Achievement, founding chairman of the Nassau County HIV Commission and vice chairman of the Ryan White Planning Council.
Mr. Nappi holds an undergraduate degree from Hofstra University and a law degree from Brooklyn Law School.
