Kathryn B. Frey to be honored at Mather Hospital’s end of summer party

The Beach Ball takes place Sept. 21, 2023 at Sunken Meadow State Park Pavilion

PORT JEFFERSON, NY – Join us for cocktails, dinner, dancing, and a silent auction just 10 steps from the beach at Mather Hospital’s end of summer party honoring Kathryn B. Frey. The Beach Ball will take place on Thursday, Sept, 21, 2023 from 6-10pm at the Pavilion at Sunken Meadow, Sunken Meadow State Park, Kings Park.

Mrs. Frey joined Mather Hospital’s Board of Directors – now the Mather Hospital Advisory Board – in 2005 and has been secretary of the JTM Foundation Board since 2011.

From her earliest years, Mrs. Frey’s life centered around service to others. In the 1960s she volunteered as a candy striper at Mather Hospital. When her children were growing up, the Frey family welcomed children from Northern Ireland to live in their home during the summer as part of the Project Children Summer Program. As hospital benefactors, the Kathy and Robert Frey have supported many growth initiatives at Mather Hospital and are leaders in the current campaign to transform health care locally through the building of a new Emergency Department, expanding the surgery center, enhancing outpatient behavioral health services, establishing the new cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology lab, and renovating the main lobby.

In addition, Mrs. Frey is a member of the advisory board of Hope House Ministries and supports Infant Jesus Church, both located in Port Jefferson, and has been a valued friend of Stony Brook’s Women’s Leadership Council since its founding in 2014.

Through the Frey Family Foundation, the Freys support local academic organizations including Stony Brook University and Suffolk County Community College. They are longtime benefactors of local high school scholarships for students who have overcome significant personal challenges as well as those who have excellent academic records and volunteer services. They are also benefactors of Math for America, the National Museum of Mathematics, and the Alliance of Guardian Angels.

The Beach Ball is sponsored by the Lippencott Financial Group, New York Cancer & Blood Specialists, and Riverhead Toyota. More information on the Beach Ball at matherhospital.org/beachball or contact Cindy Court at (631) 4762723 or ccourt1@northwell.edu
