PORT JEFFERSON, NY – Joshua Howard Kern, MD, has been named the Medical Director of Imaging Services at Mather Hospital.

Dr. Kern was formerly Medical Director of Northwell Imaging at Bay Shore at the Imbert Cancer Center, and Medical Director, Northwell Imaging at Great South Bay. Prior to joining Northwell Health in 2013 he was a partner in NRAD Medical Associates in Garden City.

Dr. Kern received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and completed an internal medicine internship at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola. He was chief resident during his radiology residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset and fellow of the year for his body imaging fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Kern, who is certified by the American Board of Radiology, also completed the Northwell Health Physician Leadership Development Program and serves on several Northwell committees at the regional and enterprise level.

He resides in Woodbury with his wife, Amy, and two children.
