If you suffer from Parkinson’s Disease, a new program at Mather Hospital offers help in regaining and maintaining effective communication. The free, two-part program consists of:
Part I: SPEAK OUT!® places emphasis on speaking with intent and converting speech from an automatic function to an intentional act.
Part II: Patients transition to The LOUD Crowd®, a weekly free maintenance program led by a speech-language pathologist. Participation in The LOUD Crowd®, along with daily home practice and six-month re-evaluations, has been shown to help patients maintain their communication skills.
Free information sessions on the new program will be held at Mather Hospital, Conference Room 1, on:
- Monday, November 5, 2018 at noon
- Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 5pm
For more information about SPEAK OUT!® and The LOUD Crowd® or to schedule a speech evaluation, please call (631) 473-1320, ext. 5447.
