Frank Christiano has been named Director of the Department of Environmental Services at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital.

In his new role Christiano oversees the Hospital’s integrated waste management program including infectious and biohazardous waste disposal, recycling and waste prevention programs, and linen distribution and collection.

Prior to joining Mather Christiano was Director of Environmental, Laundry and Hazardous Chemical Services at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn. Earlier, he served as Director of Environmental, Laundry and Material Management Services at Huntington Hills Center in Melville.

Christiano received an Associate of Arts Degree in Public Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix. A Certified Healthcare Environmental Service Professional (CHESP), he is a member of ISSA-The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association, American Management Association, National Fire Protection Association, American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services and American Hospital Association. He has served on the board of the Sachem School Boards Budget Advisory Committee and as a Special Olympics coach since 2013.
