Funds raised from the Walk supports Mather Hospital’s Fortunato Breast Health Center, a recognized leader in the fight against breast cancer.

Your donation helps us provide advanced screenings to detect cancer in its earliest, most treatable stages. Our radiologists at the Fortunato Breast Health Center exclusively interpret breast images, making them experts in their field. Fortunato screens thousands of women each year and participates in the Cancer Services Program of Suffolk County, which offers free cancer screenings, diagnostic testing and treatment plans for those diagnosed with breast, cervical and colorectal cancers who lack adequate health insurance. Should one of our patients receive a cancer diagnosis, our nurse navigators assist in securing needed appointments and access to support programs.
