Mather Hospital announces the appointment of Joseph Ng, M.D. as Chief Medical Information Officer.
Dr. Ng, who specializes in critical care medicine, was appointed to Mather’s medical staff last year. In his new role, he will help the hospital optimize the physician experience as it adopts a computerized physician order entry (CPOE) system, which involves the electronic entry of medical practitioner instructions for the treatment of patients. Dr. Ng will divide his time between his clinical duties and his role in informatics.
Dr. Ng received his medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine, Puerto Rico. He completed his residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College, St. Vincent Catholic Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship in critical care medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was chief administrative fellow prior to joining Mather. Dr. Ng resides in Flushing, Queens.
