General Statement
The Inpatient Adolescent Services at
John T. Mather Memorial Hospital is an
acute care facility for the diagnosis and
treatment of mental illness for adolescents
ages 12 – 18 years of age who cannot be
safely managed in a less restrictive
environment.
The inpatient unit is a 10-bed interdisciplinary
staffed psychiatric unit. It is
designed for adolescents experiencing
anxiety and panic disorders, depression,
bipolar illness, schizophrenia, and eating
disorders. It is also designed for adolescents
experiencing unresolved emotional,
interpersonal or family difficulties that can
not be managed on an outpatient basis.
