Sphere of Hope Joins Mather Hospital Families Walk for Hope
May 5, 2009
PORT JEFFERSON, NY—West Babylon performance artist, sculptor and longtime Mather Hospital supporter Steve Zaluski brought his Sphere of Hope to the 15th annual Families Walk for Hope.
“I came down here to support the cause for breast cancer awareness,” said Zaluski, who “walked” the 7-foot sphere about two miles along the Walk route. “It symbolizes people working in cooperation.”
Zaluski completed the Sphere of Hope just two weeks before the Walk. He has presented other works at Mather’s annual Sculpture Show, and is participating in this year’s event starting on June 5.
This year’s Families Walk for Hope has thus far raised in excess of $100,000 for the Fortunato Breast Health Center at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson. Contributions can still be made on line by visiting www.matherhospital.org/walk or by calling 631- 476-2723.
