1929, as the first not-for-profit community hospital in the
Town of Brookhaven.
At that time, it was equipped with 54 beds.
Today, Mather Hospital houses 248 beds.
The Hospital campus is 35 acres.
Provides Healthcare to approximately 12,000 in-patients annually.
Treats more than 42,000 emergency room cases annually.
Has more than 600 doctors and 440 nurses on staff.
Has approximately 1180 non-medical staff employees.
The Fortunato Breast Health Center provides diagnostic services
to more than 15,000 patients annually.
Mather’s Sleep Disorder Center has treated nearly 5,000
patients since 1997.
