Mather Hospital’s Total Joint Replacement Program is known for its quality of care, clinical expertise, compassionate treatment and exceptional patient service. Our experienced orthopedic staff uses state-of the-art operating suites to perform hip and knee replacements. Computer-navigated systems assist in minimally invasive knee replacements. The program also offers pre-operative education, including free community seminars for anyone considering knee or hip replacement.
Total knee or hip replacement allows people who cannot get relief from non-operative treatments to move past the pain that plagues them and reclaim their lives. Our goal is to improve your quality of life by reducing pain and increasing motion and function, removing any assistive devices and allowing you to return to work, sports and the activities of daily living.
Driven by the goal of successful and timely patient recovery, our program includes a Post Anesthesia Care Unit, a dedicated Orthopedic Nursing Unit and a personalized physical therapy program. Based on your physician’s and physical therapist’s recommendations, and insurance authorization, you may be discharged to acute rehabilitation, to Mather's Transitional Care Unit, to sub-acute rehabilitation in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, or home with home or outpatient physical therapy.
Our commitment to patient safety has led to Mather receiving its seventh consecutive top "A" Hospital Safety Score in 2015 from The Leapfrog Group, a national, nonprofit hospital safety watchdog. Mather has also earned the prestigious Magnet® recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), which recognizes healthcare organizations for quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice, and is ranked among the top hospitals in New York State by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals.
Our team will work with you to verify your insurance eligibility and benefits.
