We perform a wide range of brain and spine procedures using cutting-edge neurosurgical approaches such as minimally invasive techniques with the assistance of state-of the art imaging technology including Brain Lab.
Brain Lab allows our neurosurgeons to use CT/MRI imaging to map out a patient's brain during surgery. It can be thought of as a "GPS for the brain." This technology allows surgeons to have the necessary precision required when operating on an affected area in the brain. Brain Lab continuously tracks surgical instrumentation in relation to actual patient anatomy and displays the relationship in real time on a software screen during surgery, allowing for the best possible patient outcomes. Brain Lab also functions as a guide for the surgeon during brain biopsies, brain tumor removals and insertion of ventricular catheters.
Our Department of Neurosurgery, under the leadership of neurosurgeon Sumeer Sathi, MD, treats an array of complex brain and spine conditions. Our surgeons' clinical skills are complemented by their deep commitment to compassionate patient care, supported by a team of Magnet® nurses, technologists, and support staff.
In addition to high quality and technologically advanced patient-centered care, Mather has specialists including neurologists, neuro-oncologists, neuro-pathologists, neuro-radiologists, radiation oncologists, and neuro-rehabilitation therapists to provide a full spectrum of care.
